| So, now that it's had about 18 hours to sink in,
HOLY WOW.
HOLY WOW.
HOLY CRAP!
So, according to my friend, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children will "blow the brain right out the back of your skull".
Wrong.
IT BLEW MY HEAD OFF OF MY FREAKING SPINE.
Wow.
The plot wasn't very good, but its only purpose was to get you from action scene to action scene.
THE ACTION. HOLY CRAP!
Just wow. Uh. Spoilers ahead?
The motorcycle tunnel scene fight between Cloud and Kadaj/Loz/Yazoo? Yeah, the highway scene from Matrix Reloaded is stupid.
The fist fight between Tifa and Loz? HOLY CRAP!
Cloud doing an Omnislash on "Sephiroth" with SIX SWORDS?! HOLY CRAP!
Cloud cutting Sin Bahamut right in half after being launched like a mile up into the air like it's nothing? What the heck? How's that even physically possible?
...
I DON'T CARE!
HOLY CRAP!
When it comes to America on DVD, I am going to be all over it. Like Michael Moore on a philly cheesesteak sandwich, I will be there.

| Blindside, "When I Remember"
That boy is gone Sometimes I miss the way he wept at night To be still and not run To be rocked to sleep in Your light These days there is not much that will bring tears to my eyes But when I remember who I am and who You are When I remember
A cloud moves in, rain falls, thunder strikes And sunshine breaks through the clouds
I am walking blind So distracted that I don’t even feel when You hold me When did I grow such thick skin You are my sunshine and rain My joy and sweet pain I’m a spotless stain That boy is gone But nobody moves me like You do When I remember
A could moves in, rain falls, thunder strikes And sunshine breaks through the clouds I can cry out of sorrow and joy Every drop of rain turns into a crystal in the sun So wash my eyes, my clothes, my skin, my bones, my soul My feet, my love I’m not forgotten I’m in your thoughts cause I feel sunshine in the rain
To this day nobody moves Nobody Nobody moves me like You ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today has been a good day. I hope everyone is well. I've started working on putting together some guitar parts for the band so that we won't have to just do covers. Please be praying that God would put one of us in contact with a drummer.
School is going well. I hate that I'm 18 and still in high school, but much can be said for personal responsibility, eh? I'll be fine. I can't wait to be done, but if it takes me a little longer, that's fine. High school will be over before I know it. I'm so excited for college. I think I'll be an English major...the English language has always been something I've excelled at.
I can't believe I've started reading comic books. It seems almost trite, but the stories are so interesting and it's an entirely different medium of art from the Japanese stuff I've been into. I missed buying new comics today, but that'll be alright.
My personal devotion time has been a little lacking lately. I pray constantly, but there's nothing quite like spending time in the Word. It edifies and instills me with Christ's wisdom...the biggest of which, I still think, is that we should love God above all else and love our neighbors as ourselves. I'm still working on those, as always, but I really think that that's what I, as a Christian, need to get a handle on. It seems so simple to do as Jesus said and letting the Holy Spirit work instead of listening to all of the manmade doctrines and religions for what a "Christian" is supposed to be like. Time will tell what kind of man I become.
Being a Christian, a follower of Christ, really is all about showing love to other people though. Not tolerance or just blind acceptance of anything, because Jesus spoke the truth in love, but truly loving other people. Christ served the world above Himself, and that's what we need to be doing. I want to be a servant to everyone, I want to be able to give my expensive coat that I really don't need to the first homeless person that asks for it, to give my shoes to someone who has no shoes, to give all of my money to a family in need. Those things are so important, so simple, and yet they can change someone's life.
Giving is also so important. When we give, we sow a good crop somewhere else and it always comes back. You shouldn't give just expecting to get it back, but it should be something you do to see someone else's quality of life improved. To serve someone else. It's so simple. There are so many scriptures in the Bible that back this up, I just don't want anyone reading this to think that I'm making this stuff up. Matthew 25 comes to mind readily..Jesus said that whatever you've done for the least of these, you have done to Him. He told his disciples, "I was hungry, and you did not feed me, I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink. I was a stranger, and you did not take me in, I was naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison, and you did not visit me." and the disciples asked "When did we not do all of this for you?" and Jesus answered that if you did not do these things for the least of your brothers, then you did not do it for Him. We should always look for opportunities to serve Jesus, and by serving other people, we can serve Jesus. Love is the key. We should love one another.
So, perhaps I've become too lofty and introspective here, but that's okay...maybe someone enjoyed reading it or got something out of my long-winded discussion? I don't know.
God bless. -J | | |
| Real update later.
Blindside's new CD is out today. 9.99 at Best Buy. That's
10.69 with tax if you live in Georgia. It's freaking me
out. It's really good. Why does this freak me out?
Because About A Burning Fire was good but it didn't feel like
Blindside. This feels like Blindside with the all of the good
parts of their self-titled, A Thought Crushed My Mind, Silence, and
About A Burning Fire mixed in with a sprinkling of Lostprophets and
mewithoutYou (Good job, Aaron. You influenced Blindside).
Go get it.
It's blowing me away.
Real update later after I stop being dead.
